Project Defiant is Sony Interactive Entertainment’s first wireless fight stick, designed for PS5 and PC, with a planned release in 2026. It uses PlayStation Link technology for ultra-low latency wireless connectivity, ensuring precise inputs for fighting games, with an option for wired USB-C connection.
The stick features a custom-designed high-quality digital joystick, toolless interchangeable restrictor gates (square, circle, octagon), mechanical switch buttons, and a DualSense-style touchpad.
Its ergonomic design includes a storage compartment for gates and the PS Link USB adapter, and it comes with a sling carry case with a lever gap for safe transport. The controller can wirelessly wake the PS5 by holding the PS button. Pricing and the final product name are still to be announced, but speculation suggests a range of $200-$250 based on comparable products like the Razer Kitsune.
The reveal aligns with Sony’s push into fighting games, including titles like Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. More details are expected in the coming months.
