Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix Deluxe Edition

Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix is the prequel to the original Fear Effect (2000). It was originally released on PlayStation in February 2001, developed by Kronos Digital Entertainment and published by Eidos Interactive (now under Square Enix). In 2025/2026, Limited Run Games partnered with Square Enix to bring an emulated/port version to new platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam). This marks the first time the game has been officially available beyond the original PS1. It’s a faithful port preserving the original visuals (including FMV sequences), with features like rewind functionality for easier play.

The Deluxe Edition
Pre-orders for physical versions opened on February 6, 2026, exclusively through Limited Run Games (region-free physical editions for PS5 and Switch). The Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99, while a Standard Edition is $34.99.
