MARVEL MaXimum Collection (often stylized as Marvel Maximum Collection) is a newly announced retro gaming compilation from Limited Run Games, in partnership with Marvel Games and Konami. It was revealed around February 25, 2026 (just yesterday based on current timing), and it’s designed to bring back a selection of classic Marvel-licensed video games from the arcade, 8-bit, and 16-bit eras.

This collection focuses on six core titles, but includes multiple versions/port variants (like arcade originals plus their home console and handheld adaptations), totaling 13 games in one package. It’s a nostalgia-packed beat-’em-up and action platformer assortment, with enhancements like new music from composer Chris Huelsbeck and modern features for preservation and playability.

Included Games and Versions

Here’s the full lineup based on announcements:

  • X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade) – The legendary 1992 Konami beat-’em-up, finally getting a proper modern console release in physical form.
  • Captain America and The Avengers (Arcade, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, NES)
  • Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge (SNES/Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Game Gear, Game Boy)
  • Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage (SNES/Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive)
  • Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (SNES/Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive)
  • Silver Surfer: (NES) – The notoriously tough (and infamous) side-scroller.

It covers a mix of genres like side-scrolling beat-’em-ups, action-platformers, and more, drawing directly from Marvel comics of the era.

Platforms and Release

  • Coming to: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam).
  • Status: “Coming soon” – no exact release date announced yet, but pre-orders or pre-save options may be live on Limited Run Games’ site.
  • It will likely include both digital and physical editions (Limited Run specializes in collectible physical versions).

This is a big deal for retro fans, especially since X-Men: The Arcade Game is making its first physical console appearance after decades (beyond older digital re-releases). Trailers dropped during events like IGN Fan Fest 2026 highlight the arcade perfection and nostalgic vibes.

If you’re into classic Marvel games or beat-’em-ups like the old Konami arcade titles, this looks like a must-have collection! For more details, check out the official page on Limited Run Games.
