Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition (Update)

Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition was officially announced today (September 8, 2026) during the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct. It launches October 29, 2026.

What’s included

• Special-design Switch 2 console (Triforce motif on the back)
• Matching teal/green Joy-Con 2 controllers with Triforce patterns
• Special-design dock with a large gold Triforce
• Joy-Con 2 straps and grip
• Standard AC adapter, USB-C cable, and HDMI cable

No game is included.

Design

Black/teal (Link-green) color scheme with gold Triforce detailing. The dock is the standout piece. The Joy-Cons are the first fully colored Switch 2 Joy-Cons rather than just accented sticks. A 40th-anniversary logo featuring classic NES-era Link appears on the packaging.

Matching accessories

• Switch 2 Pro Controller — black/green grips, gold Triforce faceplate, gold shoulder buttons/triggers. A version bundled with a display stand is exclusive to the Nintendo Store (and Nintendo NY/SF in the US).
• Carrying case with matching Triforce design (plus screen protector in some listings).

Pricing

• Japan: 62,980 yen (~$420–450 USD) for the console bundle. Pro Controller + stand is 12,980 yen; carrying case is 3,980 yen.
• US/other regions: Not yet announced. Expect it to sit at or slightly above the standard Switch 2 price ($450–500 range). Pre-orders should open soon on Nintendo’s site and major retailers.

The Ocarina of Time remake launches one week later on November 5, so this hardware is timed to sit ready for that release. Limited stock is expected—these Zelda special editions usually sell out fast.
