The Legend of Zelda OCARINA OF TIME Playable Ocarina

Nintendo just announced official playable Ocarina of Time replicas alongside the Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 (November 5, 2026). There are two versions. The Playable OCARINA OF TIME and the HORI Electric OCARINA OF TIME.

A genuine wind instrument you blow into, sold exclusively through the Nintendo Store. Eiji Aonuma demonstrated it in the Direct — the Switch 2 mic recognizes the melody and Link copies it. You can also just hum the songs or use any other ocarina. Price and exact date have not been announced yet, but it is expected around the remake’s launch.

The remake itself still lets you play the ocarina the old-fashioned way with buttons. The physical instruments are optional extras.

Third-party ceramic replicas (Songbird, Spencer, STL, etc.) have existed for years if you want a real playable instrument right now rather than waiting for Nintendo’s official one.
